Remove/Install Retaining Lock For Crankshaft - AR03.30-P-5001MSA

Engine 256.9 in model 213, 238, 257, 290

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove fan unit.   AR20.40-P-5050MSA
2 Mount protective plate on cooler.   WF58.50-P-0110-04A
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS     WF58.50-P-0110-04A
3 Rotate engine in direction of engine rotation to cylinder 1 TDC. IMPORTANT The TDC marking on the vibration damper (1) must align with the mark on the crankcase (5).  
    SPECIAL TOOL Counterholder Fig 2
4 Remove the vibration damper (1).   AR03.30-P-1800MSA 
5 Attach the retaining lock (2) to the crankshaft and tighten the bolt (3). SPECIAL TOOL Adjustment tool Fig 1
6 Insert the locating pin (4) as far as it will go into the opening on the crankcase (5). IMPORTANT If necessary, rotate engine at retaining lock (2) in direction of engine rotation.

7 Install in the reverse order.
