1	Check headlamp range adjustment for proper operation.	On vehicle with a headlamp range adjuster (6)

3	Determine degree of inclination for main headlamps.

		The degree of inclination for the main headlamps is specified on the model plate on the B-pillar on the passenger side.
4	Adjust specified degree of inclination for main headlamps at headlamp adjuster (01).

5	Switch on low beams.
6	Open hood.
	Check and, if necessary, adjust (checking and adjusting the low beams is described at the left low beam (E1e2) in the left front lamp unit (E1), use procedure for left side for right side too.)
7	Check height adjustment of left low beam (E1e2), adjust if necessary.

		For a low beam light gradient with the correct height adjustment, the light/dark boundary (1) of the left low beam (E1e2) must be congruent with the datum line for height adjustment (2) in the headlamp adjuster (01) respectively to the left of the center mark (3), as shown in the color image. The colored area of the light-dark boundary (1) of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2) must be above the reference line for the height adjustment (2), as shown in the color image. If the height adjustment for the left low beam (E1e2) is correct, ↓ No further check necessary, continue with operation step 8. If the height adjustment for the left low beam (E1e2) is not correct, ↓ Turn the adjustment screw for the height adjustment (H) to correct the height adjustment of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2).
8	Check lateral adjustment of left low beam (E1e2), and adjust if necessary.

		For a low beam light gradient with the correct lateral adjustment, the light/dark boundary (1) of the left low beam (E1e2) must be congruent with the datum line for lateral adjustment (4) in the headlamp adjuster (01) starting from the center mark (3) on the right, as shown in the color image. The colored area of the light-dark boundary (1) of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2) must be above the reference line for the lateral adjustment (4), as shown in the color image. If the lateral adjustment of the left low beam (E1e2) is correct. ↓ No further check is necessary; continue with operation step 9. If the lateral adjustment of the left low beam (E1e2) is not correct. ↓ Turn the adjustment screw for the lateral adjustment (S) to correct the lateral adjustment of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2).
	Finishing activity
9	Reset switch positions to input condition.	Only if the high beam setting is not to be checked afterwards.
10	Close hood.
