Check On-Board Electrical System Battery For 48 Volt On-Board Electrical System, When Removed, For Transportability - AR54.10-P-0048ME

DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 25 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

INSPECT Check     
1 Print out analysis sheet.    
REFER TO FORMS Analysis sheet for lithium-ion battery 48 V, form Model 167, 205, 213, 238, 253, 257, 290 with code B01 (48V technology) OF54.10-P-3000-15FR
2 Check hazard potential of on-board electrical system battery (2). When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (2).
IMPORTANT In the event of smoke generation or fire, the fire department must be notified.
IMPORTANT The analysis sheet must be used to check whether the on-board electrical system battery (2) presents an acute hazard.

3 Check housing of on-board electrical system battery (2) for mechanical damage. IMPORTANT The analysis sheet must be used to check whether there is damage to the on-board electrical system battery (2) causing electrolyte to leak out.
If there is an electrolyte leakage.

Notify MPC/general representative.

4 Connect test box (1) to on-board electrical system battery (2).    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 08 19 00 Test box Model 118, 167, 177, 205, 213, 218, 222, 223, 238, 247, 253, 257, 290, 293 with code B01 (48V technology) WS54.00-P-0069B
5 Set switch (3) to position "1". IMPORTANT The "POWER" lamp must light up.  
6 Check flash code of "TEST" lamp. IMPORTANT The "TEST" lamp flashes (1 s ON, 1 s OFF): on-board electrical system battery (2) is safe for transportation.
IMPORTANT The "TEST" lamp flashes (0.1 s ON, 1 s OFF): on-board electrical system battery (2) is not safe for transportation. If the on-board electrical system battery (2) is not safe for transportation,

set switch (3) to position "0", disconnect test box (1) and repeat test after 70 min. If the on-board electrical system battery (2) is not safe for transportation,

contact responsible MPC/general distributor.
 
7 Set switch (3) to position "0".    
8 Disconnect test box (1).
