The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

Additional information can be found in the superordinate service document.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

1. Expose spot welds on connecting panel (2) and cut off (area A).
2. Remove connecting panel (2) from wheel well (1).

3. Grind mating surfaces on wheel well (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

4. Remove grinding dust.
5. Apply zinc dust paint to the insides of the spot weld flanges of the wheel well (1).

   The bonding surfaces may not be coated with zinc dust paint (areas B₁ , B₂ , B₃ , B₄ , B₅ , B₆ and B₇ ).

   Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

   

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
