- Mount front stationary element (1) on body and align the clearance between windshield upper edge and roof front edge/sliding sunroof frame using the
feeler gauge.
Center front stationary element (1) between side roof panelings and windshield.
Observe installation position of windshield seal (arrow).
Helper required.
- The Glue on tape strips and cut through at front edge of front stationary element (1).
- Install cup suction tool on outer surface of front stationary element (1) and lay front stationary element (1) down on suitable surface with inside pointing upward.
- Cut adhesive beads down to a height of approx. 1 to 2 mm using scraper.
If front stationary element (1) is reused.
- Remove cutting residues using the wet and dry vacuum cleaner.
If front stationary element (1) is reused.
- Apply cleaner to bonding surfaces on inside of front stationary element (1) using part of cleaning cloth and wipe dry with other part of cleaning cloth.
The cleaner and the cleaning cloth are included in the repair kit.
Allow cleaner to dry completely.
- Uniformly apply primer to bonding surfaces on inside of front stationary element (1).
Observe processing notes for primer.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease when installing window.
When reusing front stationary element (1), apply primer only to bonding surfaces without residual adhesive material.
The primer is included in the repair kit.
