The following operation steps are to be performed on model 177.0 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Install front top longitudinal member (1), fit with connecting carrier (2), and fix in place.

2. Drill rivet holes on the front top longitudinal member (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas A_^1 , A₂ ).
3. Remove connecting carrier and top front longitudinal member (1).
4. Deburr drill holes on upper front longitudinal member (1) and body on both sides.
5. Remove drilling chips.
6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

7. Apply 2-component adhesive to body cross-hatched areas.

   

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

8. Install top front longitudinal member (1) with connecting carrier and fix in place.
9. Rivet top front longitudinal member (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 (areas B₁ , B₂ ).
10. Front top longitudinal member (1) (areas C₁ , C₂ ).
11. Remove connecting carrier.
