IMPORTANT

Only data-capable USB ports are suitable for media mode. Frequently, USB ports that are only used for charging external devices are also provided in the vehicle.

The audio signals are output over the speaker system. The video signals are output via the central display or the front passenger display (depending on the equipment installed). Media mode is operated via the multimedia system's display and control elements. Media mode for the radio is operated directly at the device.

Playing back videos on the central display is only possible at a vehicle speed of less than 6 km/h.

Bluetooth® audio function

For the media mode using Bluetooth®, the audio data and control signals are transferred via the Bluetooth®/WLAN antennas; for radio, this takes place via the integrated Bluetooth® interface.

Preconditions for Bluetooth® Audio:

IMPORTANT

The AAC codec is used for optimum audio quality, provided that the audio equipment supports it.

IMPORTANT

Notes on supported devices for Bluetooth® audio can be found under:

http://www.mercedes-benz.com/connect

Authorizing and connecting a Bluetooth® audio source occurs analogously to telephony (see telephone basic function).

The display of information for Bluetooth® audio depends on the respective device used. As of AVRCP 1.3, the multimedia system supports display of the track, album and artist on the central display, the front passenger display or the driver's display. In addition, the event log relays for how long the current track has been playing.
