General
The comfort illumination lights up the area surrounding the vehicle to enable the vehicle to be safely left and located in the darkness. The surround lighting is operated using the multimedia system.
Function requirements
- Surround lighting function activated.
- Light sensor reports darkness detected.
- Exterior lights switch in "AUTO" position.
Function
The following light functions are activated for comfort illumination:
- Standing lights, front with higher output
- Outside mirror surround lighting (vehicles with Mirror Package)
- Door handle surround lighting (vehicles with KEYLESS-GO)
- Step surround lighting (vehicles with MAYBACH version)
Exit vehicle
After the driver switches off the engine (change from circuit 15 ON to circuit 15R ON), the surround lighting is activated for the configured period.
Opening a vehicle door or the trunk lid or the liftgate starts the function again. This also applies if all the vehicle doors are closed again.
Surround lighting is switched off by switching on circuit 15.
Locate vehicle
When the vehicle is unlocked the surround lighting is activated for the duration of approx. 40 s (time for automatic relocking).
Various interior lights are also switched on.
If the vehicle is started within a period of 40 s, a switch is made from surround lighting to automatic driving lights.
Presentation lighting, rear lamps, model 167.9
The light sources in the rear lamps are switched on and off with a delay when the surround lighting is activated. This creates an impression of a curtain being opened when the vehicle is located or closed when the vehicle is exited.
