The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

  1. Install and fit spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2).
  2. Fix in place spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2).
  3. Drill rivet holes in spare wheel well (1) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas A1 , A2 , A3 ).

    IMPORTANT

    Drill rivet holes through existing holes in body.

  4. Countersink rivet holes.

    IMPORTANT

    Operation steps  5 and  6 are shown on left side of vehicle. Perform in same manner on right side of vehicle.

  5. Drill rivet holes in spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas B1 , B2 , B3 , B4 and B5 ).
  6. Countersink rivet holes.
  7. Remove spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2).
  8. Deburr rivet holes on spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2) and body on both sides.
  9. Remove drill chips.
  10. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  11. Apply 2-component adhesive in the cross-hatched areas on body.

    IMPORTANT

    In this area, the 2-component adhesive is partially stripped off during installation of spare wheel well (1) with rear-end floor (2), this must be compensated for via the application of additional adhesive. Also apply 2-component adhesive to new part.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  12. Install and fix in place spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2).
  13. Rivet spare wheel well (1) with Ø 6.4x17 mm rivets (areas C1 , C2 and C3 ).

    IMPORTANT

    Operation step 14 is shown on the left side of the vehicle. Perform in same manner on right side of vehicle.

  14. Rivet spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) with Ø 6.4x17 mm rivets (areas D1 , D2 , D3 , D4 and D5 ).

  15. Rear-end floor (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas E1 , E2 and E3 ).
