Disconnect
- Turn rack-and-pinion steering into center position and fix steering wheel in place using
holding device.
- Remove retaining clip (1) and take out trim (2).
- Remove screw (3).
- Detach steering shaft (4) from steering gear (5).
Connecting
- Clean thread of steering shaft threaded connection (4) on steering gear (5).
If a microencapsulated bolt (3) was installed.
- Connect steering shaft (4) to steering gear (5).
- Tighten screw (3)

Replace the screw (3).
- Insert trim (2), plug in retaining clip (1) and press together.
