Location
The seat belt end-fitting tensioner is located on the respective anchor fitting of the seat belt.
Task
The seat belt end-fitting tensioner takes up the seat belt slack in the event of a frontal impact. The close-fitting seat belt means that vehicle occupants are subjected to the deceleration forces acting on the body at an early stage. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit actuates the seat belt end-fitting tensioner squibs directly.
