General
The seat belt buckle switch is integrated into the respective seat belt buckle and detects whether the seat belt buckle of the seat belt is fastened or unfastened.

Function
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit adapts the restraint equipment's triggering behavior based on the status of the switches in the diagnosis-capable seat belt buckles (except center rear passenger compartment seat belt buckle switch). The status of the seat belt buckle switch is also processed for the seat belt warning.
Driver seat belt buckle/front passenger seat belt buckle:
The SRS control unit reads in the status of the driver seat belt buckle switch and the front passenger seat belt buckle switch directly.
Rear passenger compartment seat belt buckle:
The status of the rear passenger compartment seat belt buckle switch is read in by the SRS control unit via the vehicle's network architecture.
