General
To ensure that no harmful gases can enter the vehicle interior after an accident, some climate control functions are no longer actuated and air-recirculation mode is started.
Function requirements
- Circuit 15 ON
- Climate control switched on
Function
If the SRS detects an accident, it sends the crash information to the climate control control system. The climate control control system then starts various activities depending on the equipment:
- Switch off blower motor
- Switch off booster blower
- Close the fresh/recirculated air flap (air-recirculation mode)
- Switch off the regulation valve of the refrigerant compressor (Except on vehicles with alternative drive and refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch)
- Open the refrigerant compressor magnetic clutch
- Switch off the PTC heater booster with the following equipment features:
- Seat climate control for driver and front passenger
- Seat heater for driver and front passenger
- Stationary heater Plus for driver and front passenger (but not with normal stationary heater)
- Hot countries code
- Alternative drive
