Location
The DC/AC converter control unit is located in the luggage compartment at the right, on a bracket behind the cover.
Task
The 115 V power socket (X58/34) (with code U80 (115V socket)) provides a 115 V AC voltage.
The 230V socket (X58/44) (with code U67 (230 volt socket in interior)) provides a 230 V AC voltage.
The DC/AC converter control unit converts the DC voltage of the on-board electrical system into AC voltage. Small electrical devices that require an alternating voltage (e.g. video game consoles, mobile phone chargers) can be connected to the socket supplied in this manner. The maximum allowable electrical continuous load is P = 150 W; short-term, for t = 2 s, up to P = 300 W is permissible.
The DC/AC converter control unit supplies the microswitch in the socket with voltage. If a consumer is connected to the socket, voltage is switched through to the control input of the DC/AC converter control unit. The DC/AC converter control unit then converts the DC voltage of the on-board electrical system into AC voltage.
