1	Check hinge damper of hinges for deformation	With triggered engine hood lifter (2). In case of deformation ↓ Replace hinge of engine hood.

2	Remove the front impact absorber and check for damage or deformation	With triggered engine hood lifter (2).
		Model 205, 253 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)	AR91.60-P-0950LW
		Model 213, 238 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) If damaged or deformed ↓ Replace impact absorber and pedestrian protection sensor.	AR91.60-P-0950LWE
	Remove/install
3	Disconnect battery ground line	Model 238 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)	AR54.10-P-0003LWO

4	Release cover (5) on left side and lift until electrical connector (4) of left engine hood lifter (2) is accessible	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.
5.1	Remove and disconnect left electrical connector (4) from washer fluid reservoir (6)	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.
5.2	Remove and disconnect right electrical connector (4) from prefuse box	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on right side of vehicle.
6	Remove bolt (1)	Screw/nut, hood lifter to body	*BA91.60-P-1002-02A
7	Remove the engine hood lifter (2) upwards	Ensure correct routing of electrical wiring harness (7) and grommet (3). Otherwise the electrical wiring harness (7) can be damaged.
8	Install in the reverse order

9	Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) with diagnostic system
