General
The pressure sensors measure the air pressure inside the doors and they are located behind the paneling of the respective door.
Function
A side impact is defined as a sudden change of air pressure (e.g. the door being indented from the outside). The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit processes information from the pressure sensors.
The pressure sensors perform self-tests. The SRS control unit evaluates the results of these self-tests.
The measuring range and sensitivity of the pressure sensors are checked by the SRS control unit to ensure that they match the programmed equipment. The production data of the pressure sensors can be read out using the diagnostic tester.
