General
The kneebag is triggered in the event of a frontal impact. It is located in the footwell.
Function
The knee airbag protects the knee area from injuries in the event of a frontal impact. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit directly actuates the knee airbag squib.
Variants
On model 177.1 with the USA version or Canada version and on model 232, the front passenger side is also equipped with a knee airbag. On model 223, the front passenger kneebag is standard equipment in Korea. The front passenger knee airbag is attached under the glove compartment on the front passenger footwell trim. The driver's kneebag is attached below the steering column on the driver's footwell trim.
