- Open/close roller sun blind
- Memory function
General
With the roller sunblind, the panoramic sliding sunroof located above it can be covered. It serves for the privacy and sun protection of the vehicle occupants and is driven by an electric motor.
Function requirements
- Panoramic sliding roof closed
- Circuit 15R ON or control unit power-down active (manual operation)
Control unit power-down
After circuit 15R OFF, the roller sunblind can still be operated for 5 min via the roof system switch.
The roller sunblind must be normalized for all automatic functions.
The normalization ensures that the roller sunblind position can be precisely determined.
The roller sunblind position can not be determined in the denormalized status. The function is then limited to a gradual manual opening and closing.
Open/close roller sun blind
The roller sunblind can be continuously variably opened or closed manually and automatically via different control elements or functions.
| Control element/function | Action | Additional information |
|---|---|---|
| Roof system switch (actuated up to actuation point and held) | Actuation for duration of operation (max. 20 s) | - |
| Roof system switch (actuated beyond actuation point and released) | Actuation until end or memory position is reached | - |
| Web-based via browser (e.g. tablet/PC/smartphone) (vehicles with Remote Online) |
Actuation according to application | The roller sunblind status can be called at any time. |
| This telematics service is realized on-vehicle via a cellular connection to the Service Center. | ||
| Convenience feature | Actuation together with the side windows | - |
The actuation is canceled if the roof system switch is actuated for longer than 60 s. In the case of a permanent request, this is evaluated as a defect in the roof system switch. A new actuation (triggered via the roof system switch) can only be performed again after detecting that the roof system switch is in the rest position.
All automatic functions can be canceled by a repeat or different request. The normalized roller sunblind has an automatic reversing function. This function protects against injuries or damage due to pinching. Once pinching is detected, the roller sunblind is either just stopped (during opening) or stopped and then opened again (during closing).
In the denormalized status, solely the permanently stored blockage detection protects the component parts of the roller sunblind against overloading.
Memory function
The roller sunblind position is saved by the system at the end of a manual adjustment. The last saved position is moved to in the case of the automatic opening of the roller sunblind. The saved position is overwritten by every manual adjustment.
