	Remove
2	Remove rear-end center-section trim.	Model 205.4, 207.4, 238.4

3	Release screws (2) of lock striker (3).
4	Remove covers (9).	If the trunk lid (1) is adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
5	Disconnect link rods (10) from ball pin at left and right hinge (5).	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) is adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
6	Remove nuts (11) at left and right torsion spring unit (12).	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) is adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
7	Remove torsion spring unit (12) on left and right.	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) is adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.

8	Release screws (4) at left and right hinge (5).

11	Fully screw in stop buffers (6).
12	Release screws (7) on left and right.
13	Adjust height of trunk lid (1) relative to soft top compartment cover.	Upper edge of trunk lid (1) must be flush with soft top compartment cover and fenders.

15	Adjust height of trunk lid (1) relative to bumper by moving lock striker (3).	Upper edge of trunk lid (1) must be flush with fenders.

16	Align lock striker (3) so that centered with trunk lid lock and tighten screws (2).
17	Mark stop buffers (6) in contact area with chalk.
18	Screw in stop buffers (6) in small steps until trunk lid (1) rests on stop buffers (6) in closed condition.	A chalk mark must be visible on contact surface.
19	Unscrew left and right stop buffer (6) by one quarter turn.	To prevent vibrations, the trunk lid (1) is slightly tensioned.
	Install
20	Repair paint damage in area of hinges (5) with primer filler and/or touch-up paint pen.	Use only primer filler and paints approved by Daimler AG
21	Install torsion spring unit (12) on left and right.	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) has been adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
22	Attach and tighten nuts (11) at left and right torsion spring unit (12).	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) has been adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
23	Attach link rods (10) at left and right hinge (5).	Model 205.4, 238.4 If the trunk lid (1) has been adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
24	Install covers (9).	If the trunk lid (1) has been adjusted in the longitudinal or transverse direction.
25	Install rear-end center-section trim.	Model 205.4, 207.4, 238.4

	Calibrate
