Replace Brake Fluid - AP42.00-P-4280C

WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid.
Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid		 Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
  Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove left rear engine compartment trim (3).    
CLEAN Clean     
2 Clean area surrounding cap (2) and expansion reservoir (1).    
REMOVING Remove     
3 Unscrew cap (2).    
4 Extract brake fluid from expansion reservoir (1).    
5 Add new brake fluid up to the max. mark in the expansion reservoir (1).    
6 Connect filling and bleeding unit at expansion reservoir (1) and switch on. NOTES Note operating instructions for filling and bleeding unit.
Damage can otherwise occur.		  
  Change fluid     
7 Lift vehicle with lifting platform.

8 Renew brake fluid.

    NOTES New brake fluid must escape without any bubbles via the bleed hose.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 253 Bleed screw to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1002-12V 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 253 Bleed screw at brake caliper.
If the bleed valve is not accessible,
↓
remove/install wheel and tire assembly.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.		 *BA42.10-P-1003-10W 
9 Replace clutch operation system brake fluid. Vehicle with manual transmission.

REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Brake fluids (DOT 4 plus)   BB00.40-P-0331-00A
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 213, 238, 253 with transmission 716.7 AR25.20-P-0070LW
    NOTES New brake fluid must escape without any bubbles via the bleed hose.
Damage can otherwise occur.		  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 213, 238, 253 with transmission 716.7 Bleed screw at clutch slave cylinder BA25.20-P-1001-01G
INSPECT Check     
10 Check brake system for leaks.    
11 Check clutch operation for leak tightness. Vehicle with manual transmission.  
INSTALLING Install     
12 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1006A
13 Disconnect filling and bleeding unit.    
INSPECT Check     
14 Check fluid level in expansion reservoir (1).   AP42.10-P-4210B 
INSTALLING Install     
15 Screw on cap (2).    
16 Install left rear engine compartment trim (3).
