	Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A

	Remove
1	Remove cover over brake fluid reservoir.
2	Clean area around cap of brake fluid reservoir	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
3	Remove cap of brake fluid reservoir and suction off some brake fluid.	This prevents the brake fluid reservoir from overflowing when the brake pistons are pushed back.
4	Remove front wheels.		AR40.10-P-1102A
5	Unhook brake hose (1) from holders (arrows A).
6	Disconnect electrical connector of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).	On the right side of the vehicle.
7	Unscrew screw (2) and place plug housing of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) to one side.	On the right side of the vehicle.
8	Remove Bolt (3).
9	Swivel brake caliper (4) upward and secure against folding down.	Do not stretch or kink the brake hose (1). Otherwise the brake hose (1) can be damaged.
10	Unclip upper and lower return spring (5) of brakepads (6) from brake caliper support (7) (arrows B).	The return springs (5) are permanently connected to the brakepads (6).
11	Remove brakepads (6) from brake caliper support (7).
12	Remove sliding plates (8).	When replacing brakepads (6).
	Check
13	Check brakepads (6) for wear and condition.
		If there is a problem, ↓ replace brakepads (6) in sets.	AP42.10-P-4252D
14	Check brake discs for wear and condition.
		If there is a problem, ↓	AP42.10-P-4256EW
		replace brake discs and brakepads (6) in sets.	AR42.10-P-0220EWE
15	Check brake caliper (4) and dust boots of brake pistons for leak tightness and damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace brake caliper (4).	AR42.10-P-0070LW
16	Check brake caliper support (7) and guide pins (9) for damage and ease of movement.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace brake caliper support (7).	AR42.10-P-0070LW
	Clean
17	Clean contact surfaces of brakepads (6) on brake caliper (4) and on brake caliper support (7).	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise, the brake system may be damaged. Remove adhesive residue on contact surfaces of brake caliper (4) completely. Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Install
18	Push back brake pistons.	The dust boots of the brake pistons must be correctly folded together when pushing back. Otherwise the dust boots of the brake pistons will be damaged. Resetting device	Fig 2
19	Push slide plates (8) centrally on upper and lower surfaces into slot of brake caliper support (7).	When replacing brakepads (6).
20	Install right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) into outer brakepad (6) on right side of vehicle.	When replacing brakepads (6).
21	Install brakepads (6).	Press the brakepads (6) in the direction of the arrow (C). Squeeze the springs (10) together until the brakepads (6) fit into the guides of the slide plates (8). By pressing in the direction of the arrow (D), position the brakepads (6) so that they fully rest against the brake disc. Clip the return springs (5) into the brake caliper support (7), first at the top and then at the bottom (arrows B). Make sure that the brakepads (6) are installed at the correct position. Do not apply any lubricants to brakepads (6). Only replace brakepads (6) in pairs.
22	Press brakepads (6) against brake disc and swivel brake caliper (4) downward.	Ensure that the dust boots on the brake piston are not damaged. Otherwise the brake system may malfunction.
23	Tighten screw (3).	Guide pin to brake caliper support or Bolt for guide pin to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1005-10W
24	Tighten plug housing of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) using screw (2).	On the right side of the vehicle. Bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1002-10W
25	Connect electrical connector of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).	On the right side of the vehicle.
26	Hook brake hose (1) into holders (arrows A).	Do not twist or kink the brake hose (1). Otherwise the brake hose (1) can be damaged.
27	Install front wheels.		AR40.10-P-1102A
28	Operate brake pedal several times until brake pads (6) rest against brake discs.	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
	Check
29	Check/correct brake fluid level in brake fluid reservoir.

30	Install cover over brake fluid reservoir.
31	Perform brake test on test stand.
