IMPORTANT Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m). AS82.30-Z-0001-01A

Ensure that driver-side wiper arm (1) is seated correctly in SPECIAL TOOL adapter.

Otherwise, measurement errors will occur, resulting in incorrect adjustment of driver-side wiper arm (1).

IMPORTANT Use the following special tools:

SPECIAL TOOL Angle gauge (A) from SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set (211 589 02 21 00)

Model 205, 206, 213, 253, 293, 297

Model 238 except code 874 (MAGIC VISION CONTROL incl. heated windshield washer system) SPECIAL TOOL Adaptor (B) (205 589 00 21 00)

Model 238 with code 874 (MAGIC VISION CONTROL incl. heated windshield washer system) SPECIAL TOOL Adapter (B) (231 589 00 21 00)

Model 206, 297 SPECIAL TOOL Adapter (B) (206 589 00 21 00)

  1. Insert corresponding SPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) into guide of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) and fix in place using screw on SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A).
  2. Fold up driver-side wiper arm (1) and attach SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) together with corresponding SPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) to wiper blade mount.
  3. Lower driver-side wiper arm (1) until all three contact points at base of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) are in contact with windshield.
  4. Read angle of incidence of driver-side wiper arm (1) on scale of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A), and note.
  5. SPECIAL TOOL Remove angle gauge (A) together with corresponding SPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) from driver-side wiper arm (1).
  6. Repeat testing procedure for passenger-side wiper arm.
  7. Move driver-side wiper arm (1) and passenger-side wiper arm to parked position and repeat testing procedure for driver-side wiper arm (1) and passenger side wiper arm.

    NOTES When changing from reversing position to parking position, make sure that driver-side wiper arm (1) and passenger-side wiper arm do not make direct contact with windshield.

    Otherwise the windshield will be damaged.

    IMPORTANT For test procedure on passenger-side wiper arm, move passenger-side wiper arm from parking position.

  8. Compare recorded check values with adjustment values.
