Install And Weld In B-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-1350-06LWR

Model 205.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  2. Apply sealant to B-pillar (1) in crosshatched area.

  3. Install B-pillar (1) with portal bracket, fit and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT Use spacers.

  4. B-pillar (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas A and B).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  5. Grind inert gas weld down flat (area B).
  6. B-pillar (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas C).
  7. Solder surfaces on B-pillar (1) with body solder and smooth (area B).

    IMPORTANT Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.

  8. B-pillar (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas D).
  9. B-pillar (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area E).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  10. Remove portal bracket.

  11. Support (3) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas F).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  12. Crossmember reinforcement (2) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area G).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  13. Install mounting rail (5), fit and fix in place.
  14. Drill rivet holes on mounting rail (5) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas H).
  15. Remove mounting rail (5).
  16. Deburr rivet holes on mounting rail (5) and B-pillar (1) on both sides.
  17. Remove drilling chips.

  18. Install mounting rail (5), fit and fix in place.
  19. Rivet mounting rail (5) Ø 6.5x12., 5 rivet (areas I).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.8 mm.

  20. Mounting rail (5) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area J).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  21. Solder surface on mounting rail (5) with body solder and smooth (area J).

    IMPORTANT Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.
