Cut Off B-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-1350-05LWR

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating point on mounting rail (5) and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
a = approx. 120 mm
- Expose spot welds on mounting rail (5) and cut out (areas B).
- Mark separating points on B-pillar (1) on Y-marking and cut (area C).
- Expose spot welds on B-pillar (1) and cut out (areas D).
- Expose MIG solder seam on B-pillar (1) and cut (areas E).
- Expose spot welds on B-pillar (1) and cut out (areas F).
- Expose MIG solder seam on crossmember reinforcement (2) and cut (area G).
- Remove crossmember reinforcement (2).
- Expose MIG solder seam on support (3) and cut (areas H1 ).
- Remove support (3).
- Expose MIG solder seam on B-pillar (1) and cut (areas I).
- Heat cross-hatched areas on B-pillar (1).
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat cross-hatched areas on B-pillar (1).
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
Heat cross-hatched area from inside (area K).
- Remove B-pillar (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas J).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
