INNER REAR WHEELHOUSE REPAIR MATERIALS (Model 205.0/1/2/3)

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 205.0 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds on front end plate (2) and cut out (areas A and B).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B).
- Expose impact nails on front end plate (2) and rear end plate (3) and cut out (areas C).
- Expose self-piercing riveting on front end plate (2) and rear end plate (3) and drill with Ø 6 mm (areas D).
- Expose inert gas weld on front end plate (2) and cut (areas K).
- Heat front end plate (2) and rear end plate (3) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove front end plate (2) and rear end plate (3).
- Expose spot welds on inner rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area E).
- Expose self-piecing riveting on inner rear wheel well (1) and drill with Ø 6 mm (areas F).
- Expose spot welds on inner rear wheel well (1) and drill with Ø 6, 5 mm (area G).
- Heat inner rear wheel well (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove inner rear wheel well (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas H).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
