Remove C-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-0500-01LW

MODEL 205.0/1 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on C-pillar (1) and end plate (4) and cut out (areas A).
  2. Heat end plate (4) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  3. Remove end plate (4) together with foam parts.

    IMPORTANT Heat foam areas if required.

  4. Expose spot welds on C-pillar (1) and strut (2) and cut out (areas B and C).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas C).

  5. Heat body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  6. Remove C-pillar (1) and strut (2).
  7. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar side wall.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on inside (area D).

  8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area D).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
