Prepare Inner C-Pillar Side Wall - Ar63.10-P-0700-02LW

MODEL 205.0/1 

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

1. Mark separating point on C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area A).

   Transfer separation point from vehicle.

   Observe overlap of approx. 5 mm.

2. Cut laser seams on C-pillar side wall (1) (area B).
3. Grind mating surface on C-pillar side wall (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched area.

   Grind spot weld flange down to bare metal.

4. Grind mating surfaces on C-pillar side wall (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

5. Remove grinding dust.
6. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area C).

   Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

7. Grind mating surfaces on reinforcement (2) down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

8. Remove grinding dust.
9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas D).

   Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
