1. Expose impact nails on left gusset plate (4) and cut out (area A).

   Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area C).

2. Expose spot welds on left gusset plate (4) and cut out (areas B and C).
3. Heat left gusset plate (4) in crosshatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

4. Remove left gusset plate (4).

5. Expose impact nails on right gusset plate (3) and cut out (area D).

   Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area F).

6. Expose spot welds on right gusset plate (3) and cut out (areas E and F).
7. Heat right gusset plate (3) in crosshatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

8. Remove right gusset plate (3).

9. Expose spot welds on rear wall (1) and cut out (areas G).

10. Expose impact nails on rear wall (1) and cut out (areas H).
11. Expose spot welds on rear wall (1) and cut out (areas I).
12. Drill Ø 6 mm clinch connections on rear wall (1) (area J).

13. Heat rear wall (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

14. Remove rear wall (1).

15. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.

    Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

16. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
17. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas K).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

18. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
19. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
