Remove Rear Fender Complete - Ar63.50-P-1401-01LWR

Model 205.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) and cut out (areas A).
  2. Separate adhesive bead between outer rear wheel well and rear fender (1) (area B).

    IMPORTANT The rear fender is bonded to the outer rear wheel well (1).

  3. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) and cut out (areas C).

    IMPORTANT It is necessary to cut out shared spot welds on rear fender (1) and rear center section through two sheet metal thicknesses.

  4. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) and cut out (areas D).

    IMPORTANT It is necessary to cut out shared spot welds on rear fender (1) and side wall through two sheet metal thicknesses.

  5. Heat rear fender (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  6. Remove rear fender (1).

  7. Remove remaining adhesive material in area of outer rear wheel well (area E1 ).

    IMPORTANT The height of the remaining adhesive should be max. 2 mm. Always remove loose adhesive.

  8. Repair bare points with primer stick (area E).
  9. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  10. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  11. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
