Remove Longitudinal Member Outer Shell On Entrance - Ar63.30-P-1102-01LWR

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating point on mounting rail (5) and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on mounting rail (5) and cut out (areas B).
- Remove section of mounting rail (5).
- Mark separating point on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut (area C).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Dimensions:
c = 65 mm (measured from Y-marking)
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut out (areas D).
- Expose MIG solder seam on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut (areas E).
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut out (areas F).
- Expose MIG solder seams on crossmember reinforcement (2) and cut (area G).
- Remove crossmember reinforcement (2).
- Expose MIG solder seams on support (3) and cut (areas H1 ).
- Remove support (3).
- Expose MIG solder seams on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and cut (area I).
- Heat longitudinal member outer shell (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat longitudinal member outer shell (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
Heat longitudinal member outer shell (1) from inside (areas K).
- Remove longitudinal member outer shell (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas J).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
