The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 222 and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage. Depending on the damage it may be possible that it is not possible to set the rivet due to limited space. In this cases replace rivets by inert gas plug welds.

1. Install outer rear wheel well (1) section, fit and fix in place.
2. Drill rivet holes in outer rear wheel well section (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (area A).
3. Remove outer rear wheel well section (1).
4. Deburr rivet holes on outer rear wheel well section (1) and body on both sides.
5. Remove drilling chips.
6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

7. Install suitable spacers on rear fender at uniform intervals (area B).
8. Apply sealant to the rear fender and foam part (area B and C).

9. Install outer rear wheel well (1) section, fit and fix in place.
10. Rivet outer rear wheel well section (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (area E).
11. Outer rear wheel well section (1) (area F).
