Remove Rear CROSSMEMBER For Soft-Top Compartment - Ar64.20-P-1150-01LWR

Model 205.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Mark separating points on connecting panel (2) and cut (area A).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a = approx. 50 mm

    b = approx. 35 mm

  2. Expose spot welds on connecting panel (2) and cut out (areas C).
  3. Remove connecting panel (2).

  4. Expose spot welds on crossmember (1) and cut out (areas D).
  5. Remove crossmember (1).

  6. Expose spot welds on mounting console (4) and cut out (areas E).

  7. Expose spot welds on mounting console (4) and cut out (area F).
  8. Remove mounting console (4).

  9. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  10. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  11. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat area of spot welds with zinc dust paint (area G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
