Cut Off Rear End Center Assembly - Ar64.20-P-1000-02LWR

  1. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut out (areas A).
  2. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (areas B).

    IMPORTANT The following operations steps 3, 4 and 5 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  3. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut (areas C).
  4. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm (area D).
  5. Mark separating points on rear center section (1) on right and left and cut (area E).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANT The length of the right and left separating points are defined by the notches in the rear center section (1).

  6. Heat rear center section (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  7. Remove rear center section (1).

  8. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  9. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  10. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
