The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on MODEL 205.0 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds on gusset plate (4) and cut out (areas A and B).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B).
- Heat pedal bowl (4) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove pedal bowl (4).
- Expose spot welds on connecting panel (6) and cut out (areas C).
- Expose spot welds on connecting panel (6) and Ø 6.5 mm (areas E).
- Heat connecting panel (6) on crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove connecting panel (6).
- Expose spot welds on firewall crossmember (5) and cut out (areas F).
- Expose spot welds on firewall crossmember (5) and drill with 0 6.5 mm bit (area G).
- Heat firewall crossmember (5) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove firewall crossmember (5).
- Expose spot welds on firewall (3) and cut out (areas H).
- Expose spot welds on firewall (3) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area I).

Cut solder seams on reinforcement (7) (areas M).

Remove reinforcement (7).

- Expose spot welds on firewall (3) and cut out (areas J and K).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area K).
- Expose spot welds on firewall (3) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (areas L).
- Heat firewall (3) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat firewall (3) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove firewall (3).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
