- Install inner C-pillar side wall (1) and fit.
- Install rear fender and fit.
- Install seals.
- Install striker eye.
- Check gaps using
feeler gauge and adjust.
- Fix inner C-pillar side wall (1) in place.
- Remove striker eye.
- Remove gaskets.
- Remove rear fender.
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm in inner C-pillar side wall (1) (areas A).
- Remove inner C-pillar side wall (1)
- Deburr rivet holes on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints on which no adhesive is applied with zinc dust paint.
Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched area.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install inner C-pillar side wall (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet inner C-pillar side wall (1) from the inside with 6.4x12 diameter rivets (areas C).
- Inner C-pillar side wall (1)
(areas D).
- Weld in inner C-pillar side wall (1) with
(area E).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Surface grind inert gas weld on inner C-pillar side wall (1) (area E).
Surface grind only on beaded areas of rear fender and contact surfaces of reinforcement (area E).
- Install reinforcement (2), fit and fix in place.

Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Clean weld joints that are no longer accessible after rear fender is installed and coat with zinc dust paint.
