IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

Refer to the superordinate service document for further information.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

  1. 1.1 Model 177.0

    except code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

    Install side roof paneling (1) and center roof paneling and fit with SPECIAL TOOL spacer blocks and SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge.

  2. 1.2 Model 177.0

    with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

    Install side roof paneling (1) and rear roof paneling and fit with SPECIAL TOOL spacer blocks and SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge.

  3. 2.1 Model 177.0

    except code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

    Remove side roof paneling (1) and center roof paneling.

  4. 2.2 Model 177.0

    with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

    Remove side roof paneling (1) and rear roof paneling.

  5. Sealant shall be applied to foam part (arrow).
  6. Install side roof paneling (1) and fix in place.
  7. SPECIAL TOOL Remove spacer blocks.

  8. Side roof paneling (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ARROW SPOT WELD (areas G 1 , G3 and G4 ).
  9. Side roof paneling (1) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area G2 ).

  10. Side roof paneling (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas H1 , H2 and H3 ).
  11. Surface grind inert gas welds on the side roof paneling (1) (areas H1 , H2 and H 3 ).
  12. Grind inert gas plug welds down flat on side roof paneling (1) (area G2 ).
  13. Clean weld joints on side roof paneling (1).
  14. Tin surfaces on rear side roof paneling (1) with body solder or use basic body filler to spackle them and grind them off (areas H1 , H2 and H3 ).
  15. Remove solder residues or grinding dust.
