Install Spare Tire Well - Ar64.20-P-1245-03MFV

  1. Install and fit spare wheel well (1).
  2. Fix spare wheel well (1) in place.
  3. Drill rivet holes with 6.7 mm diameter in spare wheel well (1) (areas A1 , A2 , A 3 ).

    IMPORTANT Drill rivet holes through existing holes in body.

  4. Countersink rivet holes.

  5. Install and fit rear-end floor (2) and crossmember (3).
  6. Fix rear-end floor (2) and crossmember (3) in place.
  7. Drill rivet holes with 6.7 mm diameter in spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2) and crossmember (3) on both sides of the vehicle (areas B1 , B2 , B 3 , B4 , B5 ).
  8. Countersink rivet holes.
  9. Remove spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2) and crossmember (3).
  10. Deburr rivet holes in spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2) and crossmember (3) on both sides of the body.
  11. Remove drilling chips.
  12. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  13. Apply 2-component adhesive in the cross-hatched area on the body.

    IMPORTANT The 2-component adhesive is partly stripped off in this area when the rear-end floor (2) is installed, making it necessary to apply additional adhesive for compensation. Also apply 2-component adhesive to new part.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  14. Install and fix spare wheel well (1) in place.
  15. Rivet spare wheel well (1) with rivets with 6.4x17 mm diameter (areas C1 , C2 , C 3 ).

  16. Install and fit rear-end floor (2).
  17. Fix rear-end floor (2) in place.
  18. Rivet spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) on both sides of the vehicle with rivets with 6.4x17 mm diameter (areas D1 , D5 ).

  19. Rear-end floor (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ARROW SPOT WELD (areas E1 ).

  20. Install and fit crossmember (3).
  21. Fix crossmember (3) in place.
  22. Drill rivet holes with 6.7 mm diameter in crossmember (3), spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) (areas B6 , B7 ).
  23. Countersink rivet holes.
  24. Remove crossmember (3).
  25. Deburr rivet holes in crossmember (3), spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) on both sides.
  26. Remove drilling chips.
  27. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  28. Apply 2-component adhesive in the cross-hatched area on the body.

  29. Install crossmember (3) and fix in place.
  30. Lightly tighten bolts (4) by hand.
  31. Rivet crossmember (3) with rivets with 6.4x17 mm diameter (areas D2 , D3 , D 4 , D6 , D7 ).
  32. Tighten screws(4).
