General
The telematics services control unit controls the various telematics services and establishes a mobile radio link with the Service Center via the emergency call system antenna(s).
The telematics services control unit is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle. The telematics services control unit is linked with the Supplemental Restraint System control unit.
Function requirements
- Terminal 30t is switched on.
- Transport mode is not active.
- Workshop mode is not activated.
When workshop mode is activated, most telematics services cannot be used. However, automatic and manual emergency call as well as remote diagnosis, remote update and Internet access are still possible.
For plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles for the Chinese market, emergency power supply is provided to the telematics services control unit via a buffer battery. As a result, the telematics services control unit is still operational for a limited period in the event of a voltage drop in the 12V on-board electrical system.
Function
The telematics services control unit controls the following functions:
- Provision of the telematics services
- Provision of the emergency call function
- Provision of an Internet connection
- Provision of GPS signal for multimedia system control (depending on equipment)
