General 

Many functions can be used from the rear passenger compartment via the Rear Seat Entertainment system. The central focus is on the use of media sources via the rear displays that are mounted on the seat backrests of the front seats.

The rear displays are designed as touchscreens, i.e. can also be used for operating the system. Depending on the equipment installed, operation via the tablet PC is possible.

By installing a Mercedes Benz app, the user's smartphone can also be used as a remote control for the Rear Seat Entertainment System.

The Rear Seat Entertainment system can be used with both cabled and radio frequency headphones (Bluetooth®).

Bluetooth® headphones are not part of the Rear Seat Entertainment System equipment, but can be ordered separately.

Use of the Rear Seat Entertainment System can be switched off at the head unit (child safety lock).

Function requirements 

• Circuit 30t on.
• Transport mode not active.
• In electric vehicles: Range maximization is not activated for the interior function area.

Function 

The following functions can be operated via the Rear Seat Entertainment System, e.g.:

• Media sources

  In addition to the media sources connected to the Rear Seat Entertainment System, the multimedia system's media sources can also be used. Different media can be used from each seat independently.

• Internet browser

  The Internet connection is set up via the telematics services communications module and made available by the multimedia system.

• Radio/TV

  The Rear Seat Entertainment System does not have its own radio/ TV tuner, but it can access the radio and TV (depending on the equipment installed) of the multimedia system. It is not possible to receive different radio or TV stations at the same time.

• Sound

  In addition to volume and tone, it is also possible to select between audio playback via the speaker system or via headphones.

• Navigation

  The map shows the current vehicle position. The vehicle position is adopted by the head unit. The destination entry on the Rear Seat Entertainment System is forwarded to the head unit. Route guidance can be viewed on the rear displays. The map view can be selected independently on each of the displays.

• Telephony

  Telephony can be used from the rear passenger compartment. If a mobile phone is connected via the Rear Seat Entertainment System, then it is logged in to the head unit. On vehicles with telephony in the rear, the rear telephone receiver can be used to make a telephone call.
