	Preparation
1	The activation code for the map update is available in the vehicle documentation (VeDoc).	Ensure that the activation code for the latest map version is selected.

3	Switch on ignition.
4.1	Activate parking brake and engage gear N.	With transmission 700, 722, 724, 725 or model 243, 293 Engaging drive range N serves to prevent the ignition from being automatically switched off.
4.2	Release parking brake and secure vehicle against rolling away.	With transmission 711, 716 Releasing the parking brake prevents the ignition from switching off automatically.
5	Switch on head unit.
	Update
6	Insert master USB flash drive into front USB port or front center console USB port.	Ensure that the latest map version is used.
7	Enter the activation code provided in VeDoc and start with the update.	Ignore any error messages that may be displayed. The update process can take a while to complete. The progress bar indicates how much has been completed.
8	Unplug master USB flash drive from front USB port.
9	Switch off head unit.
10.1	Engage drive range P.	With transmission 700, 722, 724, 725 or model 243, 293
10.2	Activate parking brake.	With transmission 711, 716
11	Switch off ignition.
