Check Low-Temperature Circuit Cooling System For Leaks - AR09.41-P-1010RKA

Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Switch on ignition    
2 Remove upper engine cover    
3 Remove lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105W
4 Unscrew cap on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1)    
5 Check coolant level and antifreeze content of coolant in low-temperature circuit; correct if necessary FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02BA 
6 Screw tester cap (2) onto low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
7 Connect pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
8 Apply compressed air to low-temperature circuit for 2 minutes at the test pressure NOTES Do not exceed the specified test pressure. Damage can occur on the engine cooling system otherwise.
IMPORTANT There should be no pressure loss within a period of 2 minutes.
Test pressure for pressure-testing the engine cooling system

INSPECT Check     
9 Check all coolant carrying assembly parts and connection for coolant loss In the event of pressure loss.  
INSTALLING Install     
10 Actuate pressure relief button (4) on pressure pump (3) and relieve the pressure SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
11 Detach pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
12 Unscrew tester cap (2) at low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
13 Switch off ignition    
14 Check coolant level and antifreeze content of coolant; correct if necessary FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02BA 
15 Mount cap on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1)    
16 Install upper engine cover    
17 Install lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105W
