The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Sending signals
Reading in of signals
Signals are read in via the following connection:
- Instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)
Instrument panel LIN
The upper control panel control unit reads in function feedback requests over the instrument panel LIN. These are sent from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
The activity of the following functions and systems is indicated by the corresponding LEDs in the upper control panel control unit:
- Seat occupied recognition
- Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW])))
- Parking system (with code 230 (Exclusive parking assist))
- Seat heater (with CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
- AIRSCARF (with code 403 (AIRSCARF system))
- Adaptive adjustable damping (with code 483 (ADVANCED AGILITY package))
- ECO start-stop function (with CODE B03 (ECO start-stop function))
The integrated controls light up to match the value of circuit 58d.
The value of circuit 58d is sent by the front SAM control unit over the instrument panel LIN to the upper control panel control unit.
Sending signals
Signals are sent through the following connection:
- Instrument panel LIN
Instrument panel LIN
The upper control panel control unit sends the function requests for the integrated buttons over the instrument panel LIN to the front SAM control unit.
