Set down left front Headlamp unit (E1) or right front Headlamp unit (E2) on the top side.
When setting down, use a suitable protective padding, as otherwise the left front Headlamp unit (E1) or right front Headlamp unit (E2) may be damaged.
Carefully cut out service opening (1) along imprinted contour using cutting blade and FSC 1.6 window removal tool out of left front Headlamp unit (E1) or right front Headlamp unit (E2).

When cutting out the service opening (1), make sure that the cutting blade is not inserted too deep as otherwise the reflector may be damaged.

The catch hooks (arrows) must not be damaged, as otherwise the housing cover (2) cannot be locked.
Rework service opening (1) with file or cutting blade.
Remove shavings with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner from the left front Headlamp unit (E1) or right front Headlamp unit (E2).

Close service opening (1) with housing cover (2).
Moisten seal of housing cover (1) with lubricant. The housing cover (2) is available as a replacement part.
