Insert adapter (C) into the guide (arrow) of the
angle gauge (A) and fix in place with knurled screw to
angle gauge (A).
Use adapter (C) and
angle gauge (A) from the
adjustment tool set. With model 171.4, 172.4 use
adapter with tool number 211 589 05 21 00.
Shown on model 203, driver-side wiper arm (1) in reversing position
Securely clamp adapter (C) to
angle gauge (A) by tightening the knurled bolt (2) at the head of the driver-side wiper arm (1).
- Lower driver-side wiper arm (1) until all three contact points of the base of the
angle gauge (A) touch the windshield.
- Read off angle of incidence for driver-side wiper arm (1) on dial of
angle gauge (A), write it down, and compare it to the test and adjustment values.
- Lift driver-side wiper arm (1) and remove
angle gauge (A) with
adapter (C).
- Repeat testing procedure for front passenger side wiper arm.
- Fit wiper blades.
Shown on model 203, driver-side wiper arm (1) in park position
- Switch on ignition (circuit 15 or circuit 15R), allow wiper system to move to park position, switch ignition off again
- Remove wiper blades.
Attach angle gauge (A) with
adapter to driver-side wiper arm (1).
- Lower driver-side wiper arm (1) until all three jacking points on the base of the
angle gauge (A) are touching the windshield.
- Read off angle of incidence for driver-side wiper arm (1) on dial of
angle gauge (A), write it down, and compare it to the test and adjustment values.
Detach angle gauge (A) with
adapter from driver-side wiper arm (1).
- Repeat testing procedure for front passenger side wiper arm.
