Receive signals
The digital TV tuner receives signals via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
Direct line
The digital TV tuner receives the following signals:
- Power supply via circuit 31 and circuit 30g (up to 31.05.2012) or circuit 30 (as of 01.06.2012), via one direct line each
- Electronic wake-up for MOST via a direct line
- TV 1 signal from TV 1 antenna amplifier (A94/1) via a coaxial cable
- TV 2 signal from TV 2 antenna amplifier (A94/2) via a coaxial cable
- TV 3 signal from FM 2, DAB and TV antenna amplifier (A2/19) via a coaxial cable
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
The digital TV tuner is a participant of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals that are received via the antenna amplifier are evaluated internally by the digital TV tuner and separated into video and audio signals.

Direct line
The digital TV tuner transmits the following signals:
- Supply voltage via signal line to the following antenna amplifiers:
- TV 1 antenna amplifier
- TV 2 antenna amplifier
- FM 2, DAB and TV antenna amplifier
- Video signals via a Y/C line (Y brightness (luminance)/C color information (chrominance)) to the COMAND controller unit
MOST
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit. The audio signals are transmitted to the COMAND controller unit or the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code 810 (Sound system)).
Body
The TV digital tuner is delivered with a "B-CAS card". On vehicles up to 31.05.2012, the card reader in the digital TV tuner is sealed with a cap to prevent unintended removal of the "B-CAS card".
As of 01.06.2012, the "B-CAS card" is designed as a SIM card (subscriber identification module) and is inserted in the card slot. The card slot has no cover.
