	Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
	Remove
1	Move Vario roof into intermediate position with the vario roof switch (S84s1)	Position of C-pillar top sections (2) vertical. Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. After approx. 7 min, the Vario roof automatically lowers into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by momentarily actuating the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) for another 7 minutes.

3	Remove bolts (4)
4	Remove seal (1)	For this purpose remove seal (1) from C-pillar top section (2) and unclip pin (6) in lower area. The removed seal (1) is no longer required.
	Clean
5	Remove sealant residues from sealing surfaces of C-pillar upper section (2) and thoroughly clean sealing surfaces	The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible. Observe air drying time for cleaning agent. Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
6	Insert butyl cord (arrow F) in U-shape into new seal (1)	Do not touch butyl cord (arrow F) with bare fingers. The point on the C-pillar top section (2) at which the butyl cord (arrow F) is attached, must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible. Length of butyl cord (arrow F) is 25 mm. 7	Install seal (1) at top of C-pillar top section (2) (arrow B)	Ensure that seal (1) seated correctly (arrow B). Thoroughly remove any butyl extending beyond the gasket (1). Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
8	Align seal (1) and tighten bolt (4)	Do not overstretch seal (1) when aligning and tightening bolts (4).
9	Hook seal (1) into C-pillar top section (2) (arrow A) and manually hook inner sealing lip into retaining rail (5) on C-pillar top section (2) over entire length and press in from outside
10	Slide seal (1) with groove (arrow D) into inner C-pillar top section seal (7)	Ensure that it is seated correctly in transition (arrow E).
11	Clip pin (6) on seal (1) in lower area of C-pillar top section (2) into hole (arrow C)
12	Press seal (1) in lower area of butyl cord (arrow F) firmly to C-pillar top section (2)
13	Remove support (3)	Helper required to support Vario roof.
14	Completely close Vario roof with Vario roof control switch (S84s1)
15	Perform rain test
