| 4 | Remove spare wheel well cover | ||
| 5 | Remove container for vehicle tool kit | ||
| 6 | Remove spare tire well panel | ||
| 7 | Loosen nut (4) and lay batter retaining strap (5) down to side | ||
| 8 | Fold foam part (6) up above Vario roof control hydraulic unit (A7/5) | ||
| 9 | Open emergency opening valves (7) and leave open | ||
| 10 | Close trunk partition (3) | ||
| 11 | Remove supports (2) and put down Vario roof (8) | ||
| 12 | Close trunk lid (1) | ||
| 13 | Pull trunk lid (1) upward on handle recess (arrow A) with both hands until tubular frame (9) is released | ||
| 14 | Put up trunk lid (1) completely toward rear in direction of arrow (arrow B) together with tubular frame (9) | ||
| 15 | Unlock trunk lid lock with emergency key and open trunk lid (1) | ||

| 17 | Open both front doors | ||
| 18 | Lift stowed Vario roof (8) from trunk (arrow C) on both C-pillars (10) and fold toward front (arrow D) until front locks (11) arrest in lock mounts (12) | ||

| 20 | Open both front locks (11) on Vario roof front section (14) | ||
| 21 | Manually lock both front locks (11) in direction of arrow (arrow E) and then lock completely with suitable pliers | ||

| 31 | Reinstall foam part (6) in installation position | ||

| 33 | Install paneling on spare wheel well | ||
| 34 | Install container for vehicle tool kit | ||
| 35 | Install spare wheel well cover | ||
| 36 | Close trunk partition (3) | ||
| 37 | Close trunk lid (1) | ||
| 38 | Simultaneously press trunk lid (1) toward front and downward until tubular frame (9) has reached its end position and is locked | Theft protection in this system state is not ensured since the tubular frame (9) can be opened manually with the trunk lid (1). |
