Engine 111 EVO 

Engine 166 with low emission EURO3/4 

With the low emission exhaust concept EURO3/4 a malfunction indicator lamp with engine symbol is installed in the instrument cluster.

If the malfunction indicator lamp does not go out after the engine has started, this indicates a fault affecting the emission control system.

Read fault memory at the data link connector and rectify fault.

Additional functions/components with low emission exhaust concept EURO3/4 (in some cases designated EOBD: EOBD = E  uropean O  n B  oard D  iagnosis):

• Secondary air injection engine 111 EVO
• Secondary air injection engine 166 with EURO4 (EURO 3 see   engine 166 with EURO3/4)
• Two-sensor control
• Monitoring catalytic converter efficiency
• O₂ sensor downstream of TWC (diagnostic sensor)
• TWC system with optimized coating (TWC system for EURO3 and EURO4 differ)

Engine 111 EVO 

EURO4 (code 926) is standard for Germany and other implementing EU countries.

Exception: Model 202.081 with engine 111.952 is fitted with EURO3 (without firewall catalytic converter).

Actuation of engine diagnosis malfunction indicator lamp (A1e58) in the instrument cluster as of 9/2000.

All models are certified in Germany in conformity with D4

• Model 202.081 with engine 111.952 (as of approx. 9/2000)
• Model 202.087 with engine 111.956
• Model 208.344/444 with engine 111.956
• Model 208.348/448 with engine 111.982
• Model 210.048/248 with engine 111.957

Model 168.031 with automatic transmission 722.7. 

To comply with EURO4, engine 166.960 with reduced power output is fitted (same power output as engine 166.940).
