Remove/Install CO2 Expansion Valve - AR83.30-P-5520LFA

DANGER Risk of injury  when working on air conditioning systems due to R744 refrigerant escaping under pressure. Risk of suffocation from inhaling R744 refrigerant in high concentrations. Health hazard caused by inhalation of R744 refrigerant Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated. AS83.00-Z-0008-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain air conditioning system   AR83.30-P-1760LF 
2 Remove left front wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
3 Remove left fender liner (1)   AR88.10-P-1300LF
4 Disconnect electrical connection (2)    
5 Remove refrigerant line (3) REMOVAL NOTES Do not use any tools to sever the connections and avoid damage (scratches, notches) to the sealing surfaces.
Otherwise, the integrity of the refrigerant circuit can no longer be ensured.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Gaskets must be replaced.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, refrigerant lines to expansion valve *BA83.30-P-1002-01P 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, connecting point for lines
If damage (scratches, notches) occurs to the sealing surfaces

Replace corresponding component.

6 Use suitable stop plugs to seal openings SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
7 Remove the refrigerant line (4) from expansion valve CO2 (Y148) REMOVAL NOTES Do not use any tools to sever the connections and avoid damage (scratches, notches) to the sealing surfaces.
Otherwise, the integrity of the refrigerant circuit can no longer be ensured.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Gaskets must be replaced.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, refrigerant lines to expansion valve
If damage (scratches, notches) occurs to the sealing surfaces

Replace corresponding component.

8 Use suitable stop plugs to seal openings SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
9 Detach expansion valve CO2 (Y148) with bracket (5) and damper (6) in direction of arrow from refrigerant accumulator bracket (7) IMPORTANT The new expansion valve CO2 (Y148) is delivered together with bracket (5) and damper (6).  
10 Install in the reverse order
