Location
The telephone control unit is located in the glove compartment.
Tasks
The telephone control unit has the following tasks:
- Power supply via circuit 30t and circuit 31
- Receives the wake-up signal via the telematics CAN (CAN A) from the head unit (A26/17)
- Communication (settings, Internet configuration, Internet data) with the head unit via WLAN and the WLAN antenna (A2/83)
- Communication with the head unit via the telematics CAN (e.g. status of the subscriber identification module (SIM) card, operation signals)
- Communication with a mobile phone via Bluetooth®
- Communication with mobile phone network over the telephone antenna changeover switch (A2/168) (with code 899 (Multifunction telephony)), the antenna changeover switch for the telephone, stationary heater and Remote Parking Pilot (A2/155) (with code B24 (Remote control for stationary heater), with code 503 (Pre-installation for Remote Parking Pilot)) and the multifunction antenna (A28/11) (model 222) or the telephone and stationary heater antenna (A2/22) (model 217)
- If the telephone control unit is selected as the Wi-Fi hotspot: provision of Internet connection for external guests
- With code 899 (Multifunction telephony): actuation of telephone antenna changeover switch
